Viewers have seen her struggle since entering the Celebrity Big Brother house and dealing with the wild antics of her younger housemates.
But Kim Woodburn's appearance on the controversial show has prompted a devastating family secret to resurface.
The 74-year-old revealed she gave birth to a stillborn baby when she was an unmarried 23-year-old and terrified of her family's reaction, buried the body in a park in Liverpool.
Talking about that heartbreaking night, she explained: 'Being an unmarried mother years ago was terribly shameful. You were a whore and a man would only marry a virgin.
'It was a very sad part of my life. I would never go back to visit the spot where is happened. That would just be too much. I couldn’t do it.'
The revelation first surfaced in her 2006 autobiography, Unbeaten: The Story Of My Brutal Childhood, which candidly laid out her terror at the hands of abusive childhood.
She talked through that terrible night, revealing how after giving birth, she laid the baby in a bowl next to her bed and went to sleep. The following day, desperate for normality, she went to her job at a store.
On her return, she went to see two friends and told them what had happened. That night, she went to the park and dug a hole in a secluded spot.
'I lowered my precious boy in and wrapped the towel around him before slowly replacing the earth.'
She describes the event as the worst night of her life. Mrs Woodburn says she still 'talks' to her child and writes: 'The deep sadness doesn't go away.'
The police got involved after the book was released but decided not to take any action against the TV star.
The re-emergence of her tragic secret comes as she struggles with life in the Celebrity Big Brother house, especially with the shocking antics of Geordie Shore's Chloe Ferry.
During Sunday evening's episode, 21-year-old Chloe - a late arrival along with Kim - tried to get Jamie O'Hara, 30, to show her his penis on Sunday night's episode.
As the shirtless footballer walked through the bedroom, she playfully asked: 'Show us the chopper. Just a little bit. Show us the b***end.' Jamie refused to give in to her pressure, but quipped: 'You'll see it soon enough.'
Things got even naughtier when she took to the hot tub with Jamie, Calum Best and fellow newcomer Jessica Cunningham.
She brazenly asked the boys: 'Have any of you had a w*** in here?'
Calum admitted last time he was in the house he had 'morning wood all the time', but this time around it has been different.
While Jamie joked that he 'needed some blood massively'. Chloe's behaviour has failed to impress fellow Celebrity Big Brother newcomer Kim Woodburn and actor James Cosmo.
The celebrity cleaner vented in the diary room: 'A few problems with our new girls. Just coming in here running riot. If this is the first night heaven help night 10. 'Chloe's behaviour last night was an absolute disgrace. She showed no respect for it (house) last night at all.
'She's 21, my love. She's grown up. She's no longer a young girl. She's a grown woman.'
Kim then told James: 'I find her a nasty vulgar little girl. That poor little sod. She has no shame.
