Описание фильма: Sorry but this is just so poor that I decided to post early to help others avoid disappointment. It is about five `American' soldiers, but more of that later. We meet them in some sort of USAAF training set that has the hulks of old helicopters sitting in it, and camouflage netting everywhere. This is supposed to be some enemy's village, but is clearly an army materiel bone yard. This is where they have the lamest `fire-fight' with the insurgents ever. I say insurgents but you might say some bad extras who have just wrapped scarves around their faces and half heartedly fire AK 47s. Our hero Capt. Briggs then has a huddle telling his men the tactics before they all run off together to wipe out the jihadists, this is like real life as the enemy would always wait for the entire squad to get a briefing mid battle. They also have magic skills as when they throw two hand grenades three appear to rousingly turn into some fire crackers when they hit the enemy. Who all jump in the air the way they were taught by watching `The A-Team'- thanks Mr T.
Then we have a meeting back at base camp, this so called base camp is in the heart of enemy territory and is well defended by placing a few tents in a clearing surrounded by some lush bushes; the enemy would never think of looking for them there. Then we have a rousing speech from the Colonel who does all his lines straight out of the book 'Rubbish Clichés For Bad Soldier Wannabbes' and boy has he mastered the lack lustre invective brilliantly.
Then our five Americans, ooops sorry one is clearly English that is James Hayward Brinkley who plays Smith. Well they have to go off into this jungle in a still unnamed part of the world. This is where it gets all `Twilight Zone' and strange things start to happen and this excellent fighting crew come up against a foe they are unable to do battle with! We have some flash backs to flesh out the waffer thin characters that the `actors' are trying to build on stage. These are often the worst bits with acting so tragic that if it were a dog you would put it down.
Now to the cover and it features what look like US soldiers in say Iraq, but our boys are in jungle camouflage with helmets that look a bit odd and they are obviously spotlessly clean as befits a war zone. The reference to `now they must fight back' is probably a bit on the glass half full side, as most of the `action' takes place in an abandoned camp in some fox hole.
This is a poor movie but Jim Hazleton as Faulkner makes a good fist of trying to improve it. This was written and directed by David A, Prior who has tried to be all spooky but ended up being just irritating. I am loathe to say avoid, but that is the only thing you can do with this 6 year old re re-release of an embarrassment. This drags for 93 minutes of gut wrenching awfulness and I like some sort of masochist watched all of it. I am only giving two stars because some of the acting could have been funny with a bit more effort. Only buy this if you like making donations to charity shops, I am off to Scope now and I only rented the ruddy thing.
