Описание фильма: Format: DVD Verified Purchase a varied selection of ballet excerpts with Fonteyn and Nureyev performing brilliantly. Not too sure about the Valse item - it did go on a bit and whilst the corps de ballet performed well it appeared rather repetitive and there was the temptation to fast forward.
The final item from Sleeping Beauty showed the Royal Ballet at its best - sumptuous costumes and scenery, wonderful dancing from Fonteyn and David Blair, and what a remarkable cast list also featuring Merle Park and Antoinette Sibley. Merle Park and David Blair also danced together as Poll and Captain Belaye in Crankos Pineapple Poll which is another dvd treat.
I did notice an error on the dvd jacket credits - it states filming was by Christopher Challis and Geoffrey Unwin - yes, the first ballet was filmed by Challis, but the remaining three were filmed by Geoffrey UNSWORTH, the well respected award winning cinemaphotographer. I also feel the dvd jacket appeared rather cheap looking - a shame.
All in all, an enjoyable selection and I will watch this dvd on many occasions and appreciate the sheer artistry of the soloists and the Royal Ballet.
